PLAN AHEAD.

Are you planning on installing a pool this year? You'll need a fence. Adding a addition to your home or just putting up a fence? You MUST have a permit BEFORE construction takes place. Remember the City has up to two weeks to approve/deny the permit. Plan ahead. Permit applications are available at the City Clerk's office.

DISCHARGING FIREARMS.

Violations of City Ordinance chapter 9 section 1-41. To discharge rifles, shotguns, revolvers, pistols, guns, bb guns, slingshots or firearms of any kind within the City limits, except by authorization of the City Council. Committing any of these acts by any person, persons, firm, corporation or partnership, or association of any kind, will constitute a violation of this ordinance.

COLD WEATHER AND WATER MAIN BREAKS. Do you wonder why the City seems to have so many water main breaks in the winter months?  It’s not because of their age. The reason a water main will break is because of the frost going deep into the ground.  When the ground freezes it shifts, when the ground shifts it shifts anything buried in it.  Hence, shifting the water line and breaking it, water mains are not flexible. Please be patient when/if this does happen this winter.  Not only is it usually extremely cold when this happens, but the water is cold.  This makes the repair crew very cold and very wet! Repairs are done just as quickly as possible in these extreme conditions.

NO PARKING ON ROOSEVELT STREET.

There is no parking allowed on the south side of Roosevelt Street across from the Alburnett School. Please abide by this to avoid being ticketed.

HOUSE NUMBERS.

If you don't have house numbers installed on a prominent location on your house please do so. Not only for City Maintenance, Farmers Mutual Telephone, Rudd Sanitation, and Alliant Energy, but MOST IMPORTANTLY, Emergency vehicles. Our local Fire Department has a map of the City and addresses but it will save precious minutes if your house is numbered. When our local department needs help from other departments, house numbers are vital.

QUESTIONS.

Remember if you have any questions or concerns to call the City Clerk's Office. I will be available Monday thru Thursday 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

The phone number is 842-2692.  Thank you
